QUAKEMATE PROJECT
I was responsible for designing “BOSAI ORIGAMI,” a project that uses creative approaches to enhance disaster preparedness literacy among inbound visitors to Japan, helping them stay calm and act appropriately in the event of a disaster. This initiative makes learning about disaster preparedness both fun and easy through the art of origami. The design features two types: “OMAMORI” and “MAMORIGAMI” (Yakko-san). The OMAMORI design is inspired by the traditional amulets found at Japanese shrines, while MAMORIGAMI (Yakko-san) is based on Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto, a deity from Japanese mythology believed to offer protection from earthquakes.
